Hay Farm Heavy Horse Centre

Hay Farm is now the only Rare Breed Approved Conservation Centre in the Country, which is dedicated to the Heavy Horses.  Not only will visitors see the Clydesdales Heavy Horses, but also other animals which would have been commonplace in the era of the working horse.  These include the now very rare British Lop Eared pigs – Thelma and Louise, The Sebastopol Geese – George and Mildred, along with the Oxford & Lincolnshire Longwool sheep.

Many of our visitors make use of our two picnic areas, one located undercover within the yard area, and the other next to the horse field, which proves very popular with children.  The Centre also provides refreshments, which are all homemade, we call this facility “On the Hoof” as you take your refreshments and choose your place of where to relax,  Do not be afraid to bring your own picnic and if you do please do add on a fresh piece of our homemade cake.

NEVER let a disability stop you from coming to the centre.  We will do our utmost to help you enjoy your visit.  Majority of the areas are wheelchair accessible, but if you do have any difficulties we will sort them out.
